Harbourfront Centre  

Harbourfront Centre is an arts and cultural organization that provides year-round programming at Toronto’s waterfront, and Summer 2024 has a great lineup of performances, festivals, workshops, and more.

Summer 2024 Festivals and Events:

Enjoy Canada’s biggest hip-hop fest right on Toronto’s waterfront. On July 20, enjoy dance battles, street art, performances, and more.

Festival of India | July 13 – 14

On July 13 and 14 head down to the Toronto Islands and be treated to a sumptuous and FREE vegetarian feast along with other family-friendly activities.

Unveiled | August 31

Since 1928, the Canadian Malting Silos have been a part of Toronto’s shoreline and skyline.

On August 31, celebrate the Canadian Malting Silos’ history with a one-hour music video installation loop, projected onto the east side of the north silo, of the newly-renovated Canada Malting Silos at Spadina Pier.

Canadian International Airshow | August 31 – September 2

Come down to Toronto’s waterfront and celebrate Canada’s aviation history by enjoying an amazing line-up of aviation performances.

Toronto Waterfront Festival | September 14 – 15

The Toronto Waterfront Festival is returning to Sugar Beach! Enjoy an exciting lineup of activities and entertainment including the Canine Watersports Competition, nautical programming, and the Canadian Army.

Toronto International Festival of Authors | September 19 – 29

Over ten days, discover new stories, meet your favourite authors, and immerse yourself in new worlds at the Toronto International Festival of Authors.

Register to enjoy readings, interviews, workshops, masterclasses, culinary experiences, and more.

Dominoes | September 22

Massive dominos will be toppling throughout Toronto on September 22! Noted as one of Toronto’s largest ‘communal artworks’ this is an event you cannot miss.

The last of the dominoes sequence will end right at Toronto’s waterfront, tumbling into Lake Ontario at Spadina Pier.

SUMMER LONG EVENTS

Enjoy these summer long events and activities!

Summer Music In the Garden: Thursdays and Sundays

Experience a summer of free concerts that feature performances by JUNO Award-winning Canadian musicians. These intimate live performances occur most Thursdays and Sundays all summer.

    • Location: 479 Queens Quay W
    • Time: Thursdays at 7 PM + Sundays at 4 PM

Battle by the Water Dance Series

Come on down to Toronto’s Waterfront and experience dancers battling it out on the water. Dancers will compete in pairs on a floating dock with DJ entertainment.

    • Dates and Time: July 25, August 23, and September 13 at 6 PM.
    • Location: 585 Queens Quay West

The Power Plant Summer Exhibits:

Experience incredible and empowering art exhibits from featured artists, for free, at The Power Plant. Enjoy The Power Plants Summer Art Exhibit until August 11.

Weekly Drawing Socials:

Every Wednesday until September 25, join a weekly hands-on drawing activity led by a local artist. No experience necessary!

Weekly Drawing starts at 6 PM, located at The Bentway Studio, 55 Fort York Blvd.

There’s no better way to spend your day than exploring Toronto’s waterfront on a bike or a scooter!

Cruise Lake Ontario

Enjoy a beautiful day on Lake Ontario while taking in the sights of Toronto’s iconic skyline while onboard one of the amazing boat tours:

Set sail on the Kajama, a traditional 165-foot three-masted Schooner boat cruise.

Get onto a paddleboard this summer at Toronto’s Islands!

From Toronto Island SUP, you have three different paddleboards to choose from, you can take lessons, join paddleboarding tours, rent a paddleboard for a few hours or the whole day or plan a group event!

Kayak Toronto’s harbourfront and the Islands from the Harbourfront Kayak Centre.

Enjoy a gorgeous day out on the water alone or with a group of friends!

The Harbourfront Kayak Centre is easy to get to, it’s a quick 15-minute walk from union station or hop on the streetcar.

(The Harbourfront Canoe & Kayak Center also provides canoeing and standup paddleboarding)
