The phenomenon which is Darkness into Light returns to Toronto for the 3rd time in 2017. Darkness into Light is the world’s largest suicide awareness and prevention event. In 2017, it will take place in over 130 venues across the world and with an estimated 250,000 people taking part, all rising in the darkness to support each other – to walk each other from Darkness into Light.
The official launch for this year’s walk takes place on:

at the Rose and Crown,
2335 Yonge Street,(1.5 blocks north of Eglinton )

Darkness Into Light is delighted to be partnered with a fantastic Toronto charity for this event – Progress Place. Progress Place is an amazing recovery centre for people living with mental health issues. This special place located at Church and Wellesley is a clubhouse, workplace, restaurant, office, hangout, radio station and much, much more – it has to be seen to be believed!
This year’s Darkness into Light Toronto takes place on
Saturday 6th May at 5:00a.m.
Participants will walk the 5k.m. route from the Jack Layton Ferry Docks to Ireland Park and back.
