Goodnight, Island

Experience the beauty of the Island in fall while exploring how plants and animals prepare for the season ahead

As autumn colours transform Toronto Island, join us for Goodnight, Island, a free afternoon of guided nature walks and seasonal storytelling. Experience the beauty of the Island in fall while exploring how plants and animals prepare for the season ahead.

Learn from local conservation and environmental experts and help "tuck in" the Island's turtles, birds, and trees as they prepare for their winter slumber.

Choose from three engaging experiences:

  • 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. - Goodnight, Turtles: a family-friendly turtle walk and puppet show with Turtle Protectors, an Indigenous-led organization sharing cultural teachings about turtles and seasonal change.

  • 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. - Goodnight, Birds: a beginner-friendly birding adventure led by Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) (pre-registration required).

  • 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. - Goodnight, Island Trees: an autumn tree walk with Urban Forestry exploring the Island's fall colours and ecology.
