Doors Open is returning this May with hundreds of sites that are normally closed or hidden from the public. The buildings that participate in Doors Open Toronto are selected for their cultural, historical, or architectural significance.
This year at Toronto’s waterfront, we have 7 organizations opening their doors to the public
May 25 – Billy Bishop Airport
Explore Toronto’s award-winning airport that has been open since 1939!
Access the airport’s safety vehicles and enjoy the self-guided tour through the underwater pedestrian tunnel, fire hall, exhibits, and more!

May 25 & May 26 – Port Lands Flood Protection Project
Get a birds-eye view of the Port Lands. From the top of the viewing platform, visitors can see beyond the fences to the future river channel, riverbanks, and surrounding parks.

May 25 & May 26 – Redpath Sugar
The Redpath Sugar Refinery was originally built in 1958 and has been operating ever since.
During Doors Open, visitors can explore the past and present of the iconic sugar refinery.

May 25 + 26 – Second City
The Second City in Toronto is Canada’s largest improv comedy theatre and training centre.
The comedy club has a long list of famous alumni including Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Aykroyd, and many many more.
Visitors can access the Main Stage, John Candy’s Box Theatre, and learn about Toronto’s history in comedy.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at your local fire station. This weekend you will have the chance to meet firefighters, explore the firetrucks, and check out their firefighter equipment.

Located on the Toronto Islands is the former Natural Science School that was originally built in 1909. Today, more than 300 artists per year create art and experiences at the Gilbraltar Point Centre
