The Waterfront BIA measures the volume of pedestrians and cyclists travelling through key intersections across the business district. This creates a comparable year-over-year data set to evaluate the impact of weather, new development, activations and other factors that may encourage more visitors to the waterfront year-round.
Additional counters were added in 2021 to include the BIA’s expansion area east of Yonge Street.
