Even after all the Canada Day events simmer down, there’s still plenty of incredible things to see and do on the waterfront all month long. When you’re not enjoying free outdoor music concerts or embracing patio season to the fullest, you’ll be hitting up block parties and indulging in delish bites from some of Toronto’s best eateries. Seeing that it is summer, you’re also likely to cruise along the harbour a few times too. Read on for more on how to make the most of summertime in the city.

Summer Music in the Garden returns to #TOwaterfront

Harbourfront Centre’s Summer Music in the Garden concert series has returned for its 20th season by the shores of Lake Ontario. Treat yourself to 18 FREE concerts this summer, featuring outstanding artists and a wide range of musical styles.

Date/Time: Now – September 15, 2019, most Thursdays at 7pm and Sundays at 3pm

Cost: Free

Location: Toronto Music Garden, 479 Queens Quay West

Dance the night away at Harbourfront Centre’s, Dancing on the Pier

Learn to dance on Toronto’s waterfront to the rhythmic beats and swinging sounds of live bands. Inspired by Harbourfront Centre’s summer festivals, styles range from salsa to big band and everything in between. Now in its 8th year, Dancing on the Pier invites audiences of all ages to embrace dance both as observers and participants.

Date/Time: July 4 – August 29, 2019, Thursdays at 7pm

Cost: Free

After-work drinks at Joe Bird, anyone?

Summer is finally here and what better way to spend the season than on a patio with a drink in hand as you soak up scenic waterfront views? Grab the gang and scoot on down to the waterfront and wet your whistle at Joe Bird. Take full advantage of their new happy hour menu (every Monday to Friday from 5 pm – 7 pm) which is stocked with beverages ranging from $5 tall cans to $7 pints to $45 sangria pitchers. Cheers!

Experience a voyager canoe excursion this summer

Transport yourself back to the days of the Voyageur Explorers and experience Canada’s Heritage by embarking on a 2-hour Guided Voyageur Canoe Excursion with Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre. These highly stable boats were originally designed to carry people and goods across Canada. Now you, along with 16 other paddlers, will be guided throughout the many channels and lagoons of the Toronto Islands, exploring secluded beaches and bird sanctuaries while enjoying the Island landscape and City skyline from the water. No paddling experience required BUT come prepared to paddle.

Date/Time: Sunset Voyageur Canoe Tours depart Wednesday & Friday Evenings at 6:30pm in July. Weekend Voyageur Canoe Tours depart Saturday & Sunday at 2:00pm

Cost: $27.50+hst per person (summer special)
