Victoria Day Paddle to Toronto Island

May 2017

Did you know that the canoe has been named one of the Seven Wonders of Canada?

Canoe Toronto is kicking off Canada 150 with a canoe tour of the Toronto Islands on Victoria Day (May 22), starting at 12 pm. The three-hour tour welcomes all ages and abilities, as professional instructors are provided in each canoe. Or, try one of their weekly morning paddles to the Bird Sanctuary on the Island, beginning at 7 am on Tuesdays following the Victoria Day long weekend.

Canoe Toronto continues Canada’s birthday celebrations with a special event, the 150 Paddlers Parade and Canoe Race! Join 150 paddlers and parade through the Islands’ lagoons in a fleet of 10 Voyageur Canoes.  There will be a canoe race at Centre Island, including a group photo with all 150 paddles pointed up against the City skyline.

As always, you can take a canoe taxi over to the Islands all summer along; a zero-emission (and fun!) alternative way to get to the Toronto Islands.
