Picnic & Paddle to the Toronto Islands

July 2017

Miss the Toronto Islands? There’s still a chance to visit this summer!

Canoe Toronto provides the City’s premier Canadian Big Canoe experience, and will be offering an enjoyable and interesting way for you to paddle and picnic at the Toronto Islands throughout the months of July and August.

Established in 2001, Canoe Toronto offers one of Canada’s largest fleets of Voyageur Canoes, inspired by traditional war canoes used to carry people and supplies along the Hudson River during early settlement.

Canoe Toronto’s Picnic and Paddle Tour includes paddling one of these magnificent Voyageur Canoes across the Toronto Waterfront on route to the Islands. Paddle through the serene lagoons and experience native wildlife as you take in areas of the Islands otherwise inaccessible to the public.

The tour includes a “bring your own” picnic, with an opportunity to refuel, relax and make some new friends. A seated picnic area will be provided, including access to washrooms. On your way back to the mainland, you’ll take in breathtaking views of the Toronto skyline.

All tours are accompanied by a professional canoe guide, and include paddles and safety equipment. The duration of the tour is approximately three hours round trip, and is a fun, social and healthy way to experience Canadian history and take in spectacular views!
