Ice Breakers: Through the Eyes of the Bear

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”40414″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Inspired by Ursa Major or the Great Bear constellation, “Through the Eyes of the Bear” is constructed using renewable, recyclable and compostable materials. This installation asks current and future generations what our human role is in the stewardship of the planet, and how resource management and development affect species survival and, in turn, ours. Its playful form, warm materials and cozy interior invite people inside, to imagine themselves as a bear playing, and to see the world through the eyes of the bear. Artist Tanya Goertzen, principal architect at People Places in Calgary, Alberta, has over 17 years experience in working on projects in parks, public spaces and streets. She has spent her career focusing on people-first spaces and creating engaging outdoor places. The piece will be installed in HTO Park West.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
