Murder at the Lighthouse
This Halloween season, journey into Toronto Island’s past. Take an evening boat ride into the “Spooky Lagoons” and warp back in time to when the Island had 10,000 full-time summer residents. Sit back and listen to true island tales as told by 85 year island resident, Jimmy Jones (the “Unofficial Mayor of Toronto Island”).
Hear stories of a 107-year-old sunken ship which you can ride today, Babe Ruth, hurricane Hazel, diving horses, and decimation of a unique community. If you dare, step off the boat at the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse (who’s kidding, you’ll have no choice). Experience the story of Toronto’s most famous ghost, J.P. Radelmüller.
On the ride back, you’ll have an unforgettable experience as you witness the slow reveal of the shimmering city skyline at night. Note: Most stories are also accompanied with archival photos.
