CONSTRUCTION NOTICE #3: Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park

Construction of the widened western walkway has been completed and it is now open for public access. The asphalt paving was completed in early-December and the widened walkway will now provide visitors uninterrupted access to the ferry terminal gates throughout construction of Phase 1A.

Construction activities have shifted to the main walkway (from Queens Quay and Bay Street to the ticket booths) and it is now closed. Signs will be placed on site to help visitors navigate their way to and from the ferry terminal and park.

Rutherford Contracting will break for the holiday season beginning Friday, December 22nd and will resume work on Monday, January 8th. During this time, there will be no construction activity.

Throughout January and February, the crew will be focused on site removals, sub-surface infrastructure and electrical work. During construction, trucks will periodically need to cross the Queens Quay pedestrian promenade and Martin Goodman Trail at Bay Street in order to enter and exit the construction site. During these times, flagmen will be on site to safely direct pedestrians and cyclists.
