Ice Breakers: Ensemble

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”40423″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Ensemble merges architecture, music and astronomy to explore the dialogue between humans and the urban environment. The installation is inspired by wind chimes, which visitors can touch to create beautiful abstract compositions and ever-changing soundscapes. Walking around and within the structure, the viewer is engaged by the juxtaposition of forms and sounds, as well as the uncanny feeling of inhabiting a musical instrument. Dependant on the winds and the user/group interaction, the topography of chimes will produce beautiful abstract compositions and ever-changing soundscapes. João Araújo Sousa and Joana Correia Silva of JJs Arquitectura, based in Porto, Portugal, believe visiting the installation with a group is the best way to see the piece and elevate the experience. Ensemble can be found in the Toronto Music Garden East.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
