Ice Breakers is Back

The second annual Ice Breakers public art exhibit is back starting this January! Presented in partnership by The Waterfront BIA and Ports Toronto, and produced by Winter Stations, this year’s installations take inspiration from the theme “constellation”. Designers created pieces that will bring colour, warmth and activity to the Waterfront, providing a spectacular wintertime photo op.

After its successful inaugural year in 2017, it was decided that an international competition for 2018 was a great way to open up the event worldwide (as does Winter Stations). Over 100 submissions were reviewed by a carefully selected panel of judges, and five outstanding winners were chosen. These winning designs come from Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Portugal, and China, showcasing unique and creative art from all over the world.

The installations will be dispersed throughout the Waterfront, from York Street to Spadina Avenue beginning January 19. The exhibition will run over five weeks, coinciding with the debut of the fourth annual Winter Stations competition in The Beach on Family Day.
