Culture Lives at Harbourfront Centre

October 2017

This month, they’ll keep your cultural calendar full with fascinating new programming.

Witness innovative dance from all over Canada as NextSteps returns for an exciting new season. From October 19 – 21, Dreamwalker Dance performs a moving “concept album” of memories, movement and images in Dual Light.

Don’t miss the International Festival of Authors, October 19 – 29, and celebrate the work of leading writers including Roddy Doyle, Barbara Gowdy, Lee Maracle, Colm Tóibín and many more. Get your fill of all things literary during 11 days of interviews, talks, round-table discussions, book signings and special events.

Also be sure to check out their new exhibitions: Voices: artists on art recalls a 1967 exhibition in which the National Gallery of Canada hosted 51 artists by opening the doors of the studios of 51 contemporary Canadian artists. And next door, The Power Plant has opened three challenging new exhibitions by international artists Amalia Pica, Sammy Baloji with Filip De Boeck, and Michael Landy. Join them as they host workshops and creative activities for your kids.
