The Waterfront BIA has welcomed a Member Services Manager and Marketing Manager to the team! Virve and Katherine are both excited to help promote our vibrant Waterfront community.

Bio: Virve Aljas-Switzer (Member Service Manager)

Virve grew up in the suburbs of Toronto and has lived in Halifax and New York City. Her experience includes a background in member services, marketing, and graphic design. Virve has supported campaigns for continuing education at New York University, public transit with GO Transit/Metrolinx, and most recently supporting engagement with Physician leaders at the Ontario Medical Association. Outside the workplace, Virve founded the Toronto chapter of “Nerd Nite”, a pub lecture series with branches in cities around the world.

Virve is looking forward to engaging with the businesses of the Waterfront and to helping promote our vibrant community.

 

Bio: Katherine Hebb (Marketing Manager)

Katherine is a Toronto native with over eight years experience working in the marketing field. Backed with a Master’s degree in Marketing Communications, she spent five years working for an advertising agency specializing in Toronto cultural and tourism clients including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the CN Tower and Toronto Pan AM Games. She recently owned and operated a Toronto retail business (The Ten Spot) which grew into one of the most successful franchise locations in the country.

As a passionate communicator and a strategic and results-driven professional, she is excited to bring her experience, insights and dedication to The Waterfront BIA.
